About me

I am the climate science journalist at Carbon Brief – an award winning climate journalism company. I get to write about the latest developments in climate science, work on (very) in-depth explainers on key topics, and go to conferences! Check out my Carbon Brief author page here.

Before joining Carbon Brief, I worked at the UK Met Office in the Knowledge Integration team as a climate science communicator. My job involved "translating" climate science for use by the government, general public and Met Office communications teams. This was a great place for me to find my footing in the world of climate! I met lots of amazing scientists from the Met Office, got to do media training, and got a good sense of what “matters” in climate science today.

I have a background in maths and physics, and graduated with an MSci in Natural Sciences from the University of Exeter in 2019.

The resulting piece was shortlisted for the “digital storytelling (specialist/regional)” category at Press Gazette’s Future of Media Awards in 2024.

  • I co-founded the Global South Climate Database - an initiative to help journalists find more diverse voices for their climate reporting. I launched the database with a friend and colleague from the Oxford Climate Journalism Network in 2022, and it now lists more than 1,000 experts from over 100 countries.
